Jetzt ist “Qiana” komplett. http://community.linuxmint.com/iso enthält alle ISO-Bilder für die von Linux Mint gewohnte Auswahl an Desktops: Cinnamon, MATE, KDE und XFCE. Ich selbst verwende MATE aus Gewohnheit. Leute, die eine Alternative zum nicht mehr gepflegten Windows XP suchen, finden vielleicht an der XFCE-Version Gefallen. Ich werde sie für einen älteren Laptop-Computer und für Installationen auf SSDs (Memory Sticks usw.) verwenden.

Bei Cinnamon und MATE scheint es noch Bugs gegeben zu haben, die sich zwar auf meinen Computern nicht bemerkbar gemacht hatten, aber anscheinend doch Grund genug für “Respins” waren. http://community.linuxmint.com/iso/view/318 (von Clem) zur Cinnamon-Version von “Qiana”:

• All level 1 updates since Mint 17 release (there’s a lot of fixes here.. I won’t list them all).
• MDM no longer crashes on non-xrandr GPUs (SiS etc..)
• Ubiquity no longer corrupts APT sources when / isn’t formatted
• Ubiquity no longer presents the option to wipe the drive as “Replace $OS” but as “Erase disk”
• ia32-libs installed by default
• libgl1-mesa-dri installed by default
• libreoffice-sdbc-hsqldb installed by default (needed for LO base to work oob, even though it’s not installed)

Gepflegt wird “Qiana” bis in das Jahr 2019 hinein.
